Meet our 70th Scout working on his Eagle Rank:

Alexander joined scouts as a Tiger Scout back in his 1st grade year of school!  He has climbed the ranks of the Cubs into the Scouts and worked tirelessly on his merit badges and service to the community.  Currently finalizing his 56th merit badge, he has learned much in his time as a scout!

For Alexander's Eagle Project he reached out to the local fire department and organized a crew of scouts, leaders and other volunteers to work on the east side of Methuen by repainting the fire hydrant lines on the posts.  These lines are an important resource for fire department in Methuen.  This line tells the firefighters a fire hydrant is close by.  They add a dot to tell which side the hydrant is on from the pole as well as a number for how many feet away.  In New England, where snow can pile up high, this can mean the difference between saving a life or losing one for the men and women serving on the front lines of fire safety.

Meet our 69th Eagle Scout

Brendan joined scouts as a Wolf Scout back in his 2nd grade year of school!  He has worked hard throughout all his years of scouting and attained the highest level of a youth Scout.

For Brendan's Eagle Project he worked on fixing and updating the sheds for the local nonprofit youth soccer organization in Methuen.  The sheds at CGS had become mouse and ant infested due to holes in the container.  These creatures were ruining the equipment for the young children of the city.  He and his crew of volunteers scrubbed the units clean, sealed all the entry points and then built shelves in two of the four container 'rooms' for better storage of the equipment.  The team also cleaned up around the outside to make it less desirable for mice to attempt another entry as there would no longer be ground cover as they worked.
